It’s the first double game week of the 2017-2018 Togga season, which turns these ranks into an orgy of London’s finest footballers. Oh, and some guys from West Ham.

For the uninitiated, double game week means that Tottenham and West Ham will receive points for their next two fixtures. It’s tempting to think that the Spurs fullbacks should be immediately placed up top, but I don’t trust Pochettino’s rotation enough that the time won’t be split. Davinson Sanchez and Vertonghen, however, are more likely to see out both contests and earn them sweet, sweet DGW points.
Oh, and in case you haven’t caught up on this weekend’s god-awful spate of injuries, the following players are unlikely to feature at all in GW22: Gabriel Jesus, Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Sead Kolasinac, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and even Harry Kane faces the dreaded Late Fitness Test ahead of traveling to Swansea.

Let’s get started.

  • Postscript from GW21: Schindler: 25.5 (11) Zanka: 15.25 (5) Duffy: 17.75 (8) Lascelles: 16.5 (6) Clark: 17.75 (5) Dunk: 18.5 (7) Long: 15.75 (4) Bong: 19.25 (3) Mee: 10.75 (3) – when Championship sides square off and you take a peek at the starting centre halves, well, start ’em if you got ’em. Else, I recommend you stream one or two. Chance-creating fullbacks are not having a banner year, thanks in part to the aforementioned rotation of Spurs wingbacks. Only Alonso has remained the stalwart among such Togga scoring studs.
  • Studs: Keep it simple here. If you own or can stream *any* Spurs or West Ham player, especially players in whom you have a modicum of confidence in their ability, start them and enjoy your Toggin’ life.
  • Duds: I very much hope I’m wrong about this, but Yannick Bolasie and Callum Wilson are the sort of footballers whose intrinsic value is built upon twitch speed and athleticism, especially Bolasie. If he regains the form that made him such a vital winger during his latter days with Palace and early on with Everton, it likely won’t happen this year. Regarding Wilson, combining the 2x ACL tears with Joshua King being out for a month, it’s just impossible to think he’ll find the service required to poach a few goals. The Cherries’ best attacking options, from Surman to Fraser to Stanislas, are going to light up the league next year: the SkyBet Championship.

This season, our weekly fantasy Premier League ranks are a one-man affair, with Benji Wade taking over the mantle. You can find him on Twitter: .

I have Lingard, Mkhitariyan, and Mata assuming they all start and I only have one or two positions open, who do you think I should play?

  • That decision was made rather easy. BTW, I’d follow me on Twitter to get quicker response!

  • Fletcher Fence

Yea, I really had no choice this time, also while I would follow you, I actually don’t use twitter (or any other form of social media for that matter).
